    ou are invited to send a proposal to serve as a presenter during the Oregon Mediation Association’s 31st Annual Conference, November 3-4, 2017 at the First Christian Church, 1314 SW Park Ave, Portland.  Our theme for this year’s conference is “Conflict Engagement in Today’s America: Roles, Practices, Ethics, and Opportunities.” In today’s America, effective conflict engagement is critically needed. Join us and your fellow conflict specialists as a presenter!


    We invite proposals that answer or address one or more of these questions:

    1. What are some specific roles we can play to facilitate productive conflict engagement?
    2. What are the practices, skills, and tools that create the best outcomes?
    3. How best to maintain ethics in a field drawn from so many diverse traditions?
    4. Where are there new opportunities to innovate or refine our work?
    5. And finally, how can we support one another to be the best we can be?


    Proposals should target one or more of these audiences:

    • Mediators
    • Facilitators
    • Attorneys
    • Social Workers
    • HR professionals
    • Coaches
    • Academics
    • …and others


    Proposals can cover a wide range of topic areas, including but not limited to:

    • Public Policy
    • Family
    • Legal/Court-Connected
    • Environmental
    • Collaborative Governance
    • Organizations
    • Community Mediation
    • Public Participation
    • Restorative Justice
    • Youth & Peer
    • Social Justice
    • Dialogue


    • Workshops

    Full Session: 90 min.
    Half Session: 45 min.
    Double Session: 180 min.
    Short Session: 5-15 min.

    Tips to Get Selected:

    Develop a meaningful title and description, aligned with the conference theme.
    Describe your familiarity with your topic and with making presentations to professionals.
    Craft and explain your effective, engaging presentation plan. What will attendees love about your session? What will they learn?

    Complete the online form [Here] for the full list of presenter questions.  Priority consideration will be given to proposals submitted by Friday August 4, 2017. Proposals will be evaluated as they are submitted.
